Scripture Union Northern Ireland
Scripture Union is a non-denominational, Christ-centred international movement, founded in 1867, working in partnership with individuals and churches across the world.

Our aim is to use the Bible to inspire children, young people and adults to know God.

To achieve this aim, we work in a variety of areas in obedience to our Lord Jesus Christ and in reliance on the Holy Spirit. One of our main areas of works is in schools where there are SU groups.

At the moment there are 130 SU groups all over Northern Ireland. Some grab a few minutes at break or lunchtime, others relax together after the school day is over. They come in all shapes and sizes - just like the members but wherever you go the bottom line is simply this: teachers and pupils getting together to work out what the Bible has to say in today's world. SU groups are open to all pupils, regardless of their faith (or lack of it).

Dalriada SU
In Dalriada, Scripture Union is a very large organisation. Junior SU meets every Friday and Senior SU, every Monday at lunchtimes. Senior Scripture Union draws up to 90 pupils weekly and junior SU is very popular among the junior school. In Junior SU, Mrs. Morrison organises the programme and there is a very popular annual barbeque every September. In Senior SU the meetings are pupil run and consist of music, prayer and usually a speaker from a local church or Christian organisation. Junior SU is for all pupils from years 8-10 and Senior SU is open to pupils from years 11-14.

Our theme this year is "Back2Basics" and our speakers discuss a range of topics within this theme.

Prayer and Worship
Every morning at 8:30am we meet together to pray for our school and to encourage one another in our walk woth God. These meetings are open to all pupils and teachers. We believe that God is passionately interested in our school and in every pupil in our school, therefore our desire is to see them know Him intimately. Thus, our aim is to encourage and equip student Christians to be wholehearted folloowers of Christ and to portray His love to our school through living active Christian lives and through outreach weeks and servant evangelism.

We also meet on occasion after school to worship together. These range from large orgainsed events to small intimate times.
